Jemaa el-Fnaa

A crazy place but a must see for anyone visiting Marrakech. By day the square is full of orange juice stands and snake charmers but by night it explodes into a mirage of food stalls, live music, games and crowds of locals and tourists. Much of the food in the square is aimed at tourists and consists of bad attempts of Moroccan food. But there are some gems! Try the Harira Soup at stall 74 - it's only 3 dirrams a bowl and completely delicious. You can also try snails, goats head, and traditional deserts like ginger sweets. For the best view, head up to one of the cafes overlooking the square. Get there early for a sunset seat!
